Teacher matching is a free service provided by Asian English Teachers. We have identified a strange contradiction in current economic conditions. While on one hand, jobs are getting harder to find in most western economies, there remains a very high need for English teachers in developing countries, particularly in the Asia region and there are lots of jobs available for qualified native English speakers.

If you are looking for a chance for travel and adventure, an opportunity to help people, and want to take a year or two to explore the Asia or the world while getting paid and waiting for the economy to improve, you are in the right place.

Different Asian countries have different levels of requirements for hiring foreigners to teach in their countries. Below we have made a list of various features that might lead to your employment selection by one country over another.

I am already a teacher or English teacher with some experience and a teaching qualification.

I have at least a bachelors degree from college
I have a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate from a program that was at least 120 hours long and included at least 6 hours of supervised teaching practice

I feel comfortable and ready to move to a non English speaking country and begin work without assistance

If you meet all the requirements in group one, but don’t feel quite ready to make the move on your own, we have a special program that might help. First, you need to select the country that most interest you. We offer a welcome and assistance two week program that includes:

Someone to meet you at the airport a nd take you to your initial housing
Two weeks of initial housing
30 Hours of local language and cultural orientation
Assistance with resume development and job search
24 Hour emergency contact
A cell phone to use for the two week program

As we said earlier, different countries have different qualifications, in order to give you the best assistance as to where you fit in the system, we have developed the attached questionnaire. Please be as honest as possible and answer all the questions. One of our educational specialists will review your information and give you a personalized analysis of where you could fit in immediately, or of things you might want to do to increase the likelihood of getting a teaching job.
